Notes

I thought we were arriving early by getting to the Fox around 7:30 PM, but surprisingly, the venue was well on the way to filling up: the pit was already kinda full, the first tier was more than half full, and even the second tier was about 1/3 full. Lots of Goose fans angling on getting the perfect spot!

We opted to wiggle our way into the pit, starting offside to stage right, but making strategic changes until we ended up about 5 or 6 people back from stage, more or less dead center. It helped that we could take advantage of friends and friendly strangers, and also that we played our cards right as far as finagling our way towards a better spot whenever the opportunity arose. This maneuvering didn't go completely unnoticed, and there were more than a few grumpy folks who let us know one way or another, but I don't think we were particularly rude about it, more that they were upset at having spent more time (in line outside) and so felt entitled to bitch about wedgers like us. It's true! We wedged!

How was the show? Sublime! Goose have a good thing going, and I enjoyed this show quite a bit more than the show we got in Mexico this past January. It was a bit of a strange experience because I haven't listened to them enough to recognize almost any tunes except the covers. This allowed me to give in to instinct and 'get into it' or not based on how well the groove filled my soul. I think I might try to remain in this situation for awhile!

Wanna listen to the show? You can, for free! Head over to Bandcamp.
