Nickel Creek

After a quick dinner in Oakland Chinatown with Ting's dad and brother, we walked over to the Fox for tonight's entertainment. It was a blessing to be at a fully seated show tonight – my knee has really been bothering me lately. Heck, even sitting through the show became mildly uncomfortable, and I was really happy when the crowd decided to get up and dance for the Fox: yay, a chance to stretch a little! Of course the short woman a few rows behind us was really unhappy about this (and asked repeatedly for everyone to sit down, to little effect): you can't please everyone.

I thought the show was pretty solid. Maybe a trifle too many campy dance gestures from Sara and Chris, but when that got annoying, it was easy enough to close my eyes and listen without that distraction. It's interesting to think how they've grown up. Makes me glad that I jumped on tickets this time – the last time I saw them was seventeen years ago – 2006!
