Friday traffic today was somewhat worse than last week's Saturday traffic, but we made up for most of the difference by cruising in the HOV lane. Stopped at Mardini's Deli Cafe again. This time I got a chicken shawarma wrap, yum! Too big to eat all at once, but perfect for noshing half before the show and then half afterwards!

I thought today's show was great! I get that some folks aren't into JRAD, but I really enjoy what they're currently laying down – way more so tonight than what I've heard them doing over the past few years. What changed? Well it could certainly be me, or the state I was in tonight, but my gut feeling is that at previous shows they came out with the aim of blowing the audience away, whereas tonight they came out with the idea of surprising each other, and a consequence of that is that there were many points during the night where I was thinking (in the best way possible) “Holy crap, what are these guys doing?”

Would I have gone another night? That's an interesting question! The sane side of me is very glad that I didn't have to make that decision – I was thoroughly worn out from one night trying to dance with a bum knee. Hopefully I'll be in better shape the next time JRAD comes round, and hopefully it will be back at Frost!
